What is CBD Lube? CBD is short for Cannabidiol, the primary non-psychotropic ingredient that is present in marijuana. However, there is not much of clinical research on CBD lube yet, stated Dr. Mark Hausman, editor-in-chief of the medical journal Neuropharmacology. He further explained that more research is needed. He is not involved in the study but has been an expert on medical marijuana.
In the US, CBD Lube is not legal yet, but local governments are permitting the use of extracts derived from cannabis, such as CBD. To date, there are no known side effects of using these extracts. Thus, many cosmetic companies are producing non-intoxicating, non-narcotic products with CBD as the primary ingredient. In recent years, many companies have produced CBD lube that helps people feel relaxed, boost energy and reduce anxiety. Some of these are marketed as “cbd lube,” while others are manufactured as massage oil. There are also products which act as a natural aphrodisiac.
How does this unique ingredient work? It is believed to act on the brain’s natural relaxing mechanism. In fact, CBD is believed to reduce the effects of a stress-related hormone called cortisol. This can result in an overall feeling of well-being. The oil, when applied topically, produces an intense sensation of relaxation.
As stated by Hausman, there has been little research on whether CBD is effective in treating or reducing the negative health effects of inflammation. He states that more studies must be conducted to confirm the effectiveness of this oil in relieving anxiety and other symptoms of certain disorders such as cancer, diabetes and Parkinson’s disease. However, he notes that CBD has been shown to be effective in reducing blood pressure, improving motor function, reducing nausea and pain, and increasing sexual drive. He believes that future research will reveal even more benefits of CBD for athletes, patients with diseases such as Parkinson’s, and diabetes sufferers. He notes that more studies need to be conducted in order to confirm whether CBD can be used as an aid to enhance a patient’s sexual experience.
The American Association of Surgical Chemists and Toxicologists recommends that any topical application of lube be considered safe when formulated with food grade dyes. They also advise that Lube should not be used during breast feeding. If you or your partner become lactose intolerant, Lube should not be used during breast feeding as the product may cause severe irritation. It is best to use lube with caution when engaging in sexual activity.
Hausman says that he recommends that men and women both use lube that contains ingredients that help lubricate the body but are not considered aphrodisiacs, and are capable of reducing friction without increasing sensitivity. He notes that the best lubes for him are made from all natural ingredients. He does not feel that ingredients such as Yohimbe and Epimedium are aphrodisiacs and does not recommend using them in his practice. He notes however, that he has used as aphrodisiacs in the past and that they worked well for him. He does, however, recommend that his patients to test a small amount of lube to determine its effectiveness for their own individual needs.
