CBL & The Liebster Blog Award

I’d like to thank the ladies from Reality Bites! Let's Get Lost for nominating me for the Liebster Blog Award.

I have heard of this from my usual web browsing, but to be honest, I've never really worried about it that much, nor did I understand it really - until... I was nominated of course! That's when I went a googling and a searching about the meaning of all this.

So this is what I've found out {Thought maybe some of you would be in the same boat as I was... therefore you'd appreciate the lesson }

The Liebster award is given by other bloggers to an up and coming blogger.

The meaning: Liebster is German and means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome.

Essentially it's a way for a blogger to tell another blogger "You are one of my favorite blogs"

So that's what The Liebster Blog Awards are :)

1. Each person posts 11 things about themselves that you probably didn't know.

2. Answer the questions the nominator made for you and also create 11 more questions for the blogs you nominate

3. Choose nominations and link them to your post

4. Go to their page and tell them.

01•  I live in the beautiful coastal City of Port Elizabeth, South Africa. And I actually do live along the shoreline :) - Well across the road from it. No one actually lives right next to the water here. But if I walk out of my front door, it will take me 2 min, if I ran... which is never going to happen, or 5 minutes if I walk, not happening either... But... one minute if I drive and that's usually my choice when needing to get to my destination.

Although I absolutely adore Port Elizabeth - I really prefer Cape Town and that's where I have my heart set on living - (one-day) {Or New York, but I'm being realistic here}

02• I got engaged in June of last year to the most amazing man ever! We have been together for, going-on, 9 years now... so I suppose it was the 'next step'.

03• I'm a stay-at-home mom - except I don't actually have kids (lol) - So I guess you can say, I can sleep in, go to bed as late as I want and the only person I have to worry about, is old enough to look after himself :)

04• I'm handy with a computer. If I wasn't born in the 80's, I'd probably have been born with a computer in my crib.

05• I can recite the entire script of Dirty Dancing and Grease (1 & 2) - oh and Cold as Ice, The Vanilla Ice one (hahaha)... ( If you have no idea what I'm talking about, you are probably too young to be on this blog :) )

06• I own the entire Friends DVD collection and I watch them all in order at least once a year.

07• I also own DVDs of Yoga for beginners, Pillate's your way to a healthy mind and soul, Yogallaties and Calanetics and when I got them, I opened the packaging and to this day I have never ever put them in the DVD player lol... In fact, they aren't even near the TV or DVD player.

08• I almost only wear grey, pink, red, black, white, brown or cream clothing. I have some other colors but never wear them. I tend to gravitate towards those colors when shopping for new clothes or shoes. I'm a handbag & shoes nut!

09• My favorite 'other' color changes almost monthly. Right now it's purple. Last month it was green.

10• I'm a Christmas freak. I become a whole other person during Christmas season. My family just let's me be and remain out of my way.

11• I am an Apple-aholic. I own one of every product version they have. The only one I don't have yet is Apple TV...and that's only because it's not really something that would work for a South African. Other than that... when you walk into my house... it's all Apple :)

01•  Who is your favorite author?

I'm going to go with what my heart tells me to say here and that's Kristen Ashley. With the exception of one or two books, she's made me the happiest while reading here book, as a whole.

02•  What is your ALL TIME favorite movie?

It's a tie really between Grease and Dirty Dancing. I used to have it back-to-back on a VHS cassette tape, when I was about 7 or 8, and I used to watch it almost every single day during a school week and every day during the school breaks.

03•  How many books did you read in 2012?

According to my Goodreads challenge, I've read 153 books. But it's actually a handful more, since I still haven't added the one's that I read before I joined Goodreads and started blogging my reviews.

04•  What is your favorite genre to read?

Romance of course. But I do have exceptions in the sub-genre's of romance. I adore adult mainly, but I love paranormal and some YA romance books.

05•  If you could choose one book series to be made into a hour long T.V. show which book series would you pick?

Strangely enough, the answer to this question would be a book that is still only awaiting the second installment.

Would definitely be the serie's I'd watch! The reason would be that there would be so many different directions it could go into without seeming repetitive.

06•  Which stand alone book did you read last year was so GOOD, that you wish the author would make it into a series?

It wasn't released last year, but I did read it in 2012.

How to Kill a Rock Star

Could definately have been a two part series I believe. The only reason I didn't give it a Fav book of 2012 label was because it was released in 2005.

07•  When is the last time you had to travel by plane and where did you go?

Cape Town and it was in November last year. But I have another trip on over there, by plane on the 3 of Feb 2013.

08•  If you could turn a book into a play that travels around the world, which book would you choose?

I decline to answer this question, since I don't really know plays as such and it's not a big thing over here... so I wouldn't be giving a fair or educated answer to this question.
09  What is the name of the last book you read that kept you up all night?

This answer goes two ways. The last book I stayed up all night reading was With Everything I Am (The Three, #2) , but the last book I read that I just didn't want to put down, but had to, because of a commitment, was Hopeless by Colleen Hoover.

10 How many hours a day do you actually watch television?

Not many. In fact the television is always on, but I always have my laptop on my lap or my Kindle in my hand, and don't really focus much on what's happening on the TV... unless it's Glee or Gossip Girl... because then I stop EVERYTHING and focus. So... not many hours at all. I'm not a huge TV fan really.

11•  What's the last book you read that disappointed you, expectation wise?

This was yesterday actually - Up To Me by M. Leighton. A tragedy!

These are my nominations for The Liebster Blog Awards. These are blog I actually go to regularly and read what the blogger's have to say, or in addition, I communicate often with them and they are total 'Liebsters' - so it's a fitting nomination. {In no particular order} - I had a couple more, but they have already been nominated :)

04• What is your current or all-time "Get up and Dance" song? The one You just have to jiggle to when you hear it!

05• What is the one thing you would really love... but just can't afford it right now?

07• What made you decide to start a book review blog?

08• Using the letters of your first name to create individual words / phrases... Describe yourself to us. ie. I would be: Lazy at times, Aloof, Under the Radar, Ready for anything, Yells at fictional characters, Never Sleeps, Needs to be more active, Easy to figure out.

09• A fictional character you wouldn't mind waking up to each morning?

10• When was the last time you did something entirely selfish. Something just for you and what was it?
